Pricing
Billing for unbundled dedicated DS3 transport begins upon completion of the service order on the requested due date. The following rate elements apply generally for unbundled dedicated transport:

The mileage used to determine the monthly mileage charge for unbundled dedicated DS1 transport is based on airline mileage utilizing the Vertical and Horizontal (V&H) coordinate method between the locations to which the facility is provisioned. When the calculation results in a fraction of a mile, the mileage is rounded up to the next whole mile before applying the rates.
Pricing varies by state jurisdiction and applies pursuant to individual carrier interconnection agreements.
Features
DS3 dedicated unbundled transport may be ordered with M23 or C-Bit parity. There are two standard framing formats for the DS3 frame overhead bits. These framing formats are called M23 and C-Bit Parity. The DS3 framing format and the DS3 payload format are determined by the DS3 terminal equipment that originates and terminates the DS3 signal. When the DS3 payload signal is framed, the equipment at each end of the DS3 channel takes the payload data and formats it into DS3 frames that consist of 4,760 bits each. Fifty-six of the bits in each frame are used for overhead.
CLECs may use either framing format, but the specific framing format needs to be identified when the DS3 Unbundled Dedicated IOF Transport is ordered. When C-Bit Parity is specified, carriers must also identify whether the DS3 payload is channelized (i.e., payload consists of 28 DS1 channels) or unchannelized (i.e., payload consists of a single 44.21 Mbps channel).
Unbundled dedicated DS3 transport consists of a two-point digital channel, which provides for simultaneous two-way transmission of serial, bipolar, return-to-zero isochronous digital electrical signals at a transmission rate of 44.736 megabits per second (Mbps).
The interface to unbundled dedicated DS3 transport is a metallic-based electrical interface. This interface must comply with the ANSI T1.102, 1993 Digital Electrical Interface Standard.
Access to unbundled dedicated DS3 transport is from the CLEC's central office or from the CLEC's collocation arrangement with Verizon via an appropriate cross-connection made on the Digital Signal Cross-Connect (DSX).
Unbundled dedicated DS3 transport is available within the same LATA between the following designated locations:
- CLEC central offices
- CLEC Collocation Arrangements with Frontier
- A CLEC Collocation Arrangement with Verizon and a CLEC central office
When Unbundled Dedicated IOF Transport terminates at a Frontier central office, it must terminate at a CLEC collocation arrangement. When Unbundled Dedicated IOF Transport terminates at a CLEC central office, it must be handed to the CLEC from Frontier equipment within the CLEC's central office.
