Frontier's 800 Database Access Service forwards toll-free calls to a telephone switching point for completion at desired destinations. Plus, the service flexes to your customers' needs. For example, our vertical feature package enhances your capabilities by routing calls to different locations based on criteria such as time-of-day, date, geographic origin, amount of network traffic or percent of allocation. You can define emergency routing for customers who request it. And, Verizon can route calls to end users as well as to your network.
How It Works
When an 8xx number is dialed, a Frontier access tandem receives the call, queries our database for the carrier identification code and routes the call to the appropriate IXC. In turn, the IXC terminates the call at its proper destination.

Toll Free Database Access Services
Description
Toll-free Database Access Service in WV, 800 Database Access Service in Verizon-North, and 8XX Data Base Query Service in Other States are the same product but offered under different names.
800 Database Access Service identifies and routes toll free 800-type (i.e., 800/888/877/866/855) long distance calls originating from end users to the appropriate 800 service provider. When a subscriber dials a toll-free call, the originating switch queries the Frontier Toll Free SCP. Upon locating the 800-type number, the SCP returns the information the switch needs to route the call to the appropriate long distance carrier or POTS number. By subscribing to the premium version of 800 Database Access calls can be routed to different locations based on time of day, day of week, originating call number, etc.
Availability
800 Database Access Service is offered on a national basis through SS7 connectivity.

Features
The Vertical Feature Package allows you to route calls to different locations based on your needs. You can choose to route calls to different locations based on such criteria as time of day or week, date, geographic origin of the call, current amount of network traffic or percent of allocation.
You can also choose to route calls differently in the case of an emergency. Additionally, you can have Verizon route calls to an end-user rather than just into your network.

When a caller dials an 800 number, the call follows this path over the network:
- Frontier's end office or access tandem receives the call
- The end office or access tandem queries Frontier's regional 800 Database and receives the CIC (Carrier Identification Code)
- The CIC allows Verizon to route the call to the appropriate Carrier, which then routes the call to the appropriate 800 number subscriber.
